Abstract

From questions raised in the the author's artistic and research experiences and recent editions of the Prague Quadrennials, the text deals with some possible definitions of the concepts of scenography, performance, performativity and theatricality, seeking to establish distinctions and approximations between the theatrical arts and the visual arts, especially in the field of sculpture. For that, are analyzed questions raised by authors such as Rosalind Krauss and Josette Féral, among others, relevant to the culturally constructed conceptions of these fields and concepts, as well as to the ways of thinking about the making and the creative processes of these areas.

João Carlos Machado, Departamento de Arte Dramática da UFRGS

Nome artístico: Chico Machado. Doutor em Poéticas Visuais pelo PPGAV/UFRGS (2012) e professor adjunto no Departamento de Arte Dramática da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Possui graduação em Bacharelado em Desenho pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1992), graduação em Bacharelado em Pintura pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1990), Especialização em Teoria do Teatro Contemporâneo pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul e mestrado em Artes Visuais pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2005). Foi professor assistente da Fundação Municipal de Artes de Montenegro (2002-2008), e professor assistente do Curso de Bacharelado em artes visuais do Centro de Artes da UFPEL (2009-2014).É pesquisador do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em Objeto, Performance e Vídeo, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: objeto, performance, video e elementos visuais da encenação
