REFLEXIONS ABOUT THE LABANOTATION

Abstract

The Labanotation was a dance notation developed by Rudolf Laban in the early 20th century. Through a comparative analysis between the Labanotation and the function of the musical score and its structures of composition, is possible to argue that probably this writing for dance, besides its function of registration, created the conditions of possibility for Laban to develop his system of analysis of movement, his ontology and allowed to think of innovative choreographic creation paths.
