Abstract

In an informal and relaxed way, Carlos Simioni shares his experience and his deep knowledge of the actor’s art in a chat that brings us closer to this important moment in the history of theater and acting in Brazil. In this interview, Simioni tells us how he started the training and the creation of LUME in the 80’s and how all these techniques have evolved to this day. He visits his experience with Luis Otavio Burnier, Corporeal Mismesis, Clown and his personal training, including techniques such as Wind Dance, Samurai, and more recent ones such as Portal and Layers. This interview was performed and transcribed by Marcelo Teixeira on the 29th of August 2016 at the request of Cláudia Sachs, who prepared a series of questions to organize and direct the conversation with Simioni.

Author Biography

Marcelo Marques Teixeira, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto

Formado pelo IFPB em Técnico Mecânica; Graduado em Licenciatura em Teatro pela UFPB e mestrando em Teatro pela UFOP. Por dois anos contribuiu com o grupo de pesquisa: Aspectos-Cênicos Dramatúrgicos, sob a orientação do Prof. Dr. Erlon Cherque Pinto e, posteriormente, participou do grupo de pesquisa Teatro Tradição e Contemporaneidade na linha de pesquisa Ator e Cena, sob a orientação da Prof.ª Dra. Paula Coelho, no qual foi PIVIC em 2013. Neste mesmo ano, foi premiado como Jovem Pesquisador pelo XXI Encontro de Iniciação Cientifica - ENIC/2013, consequentemente, foi convidado para participar da 66ª reunião da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência - 66ª SBPC. Foi um dos fundadores e pesquisadores do NUPTA (Núcleo de Pesquisa do Trabalho do Ator), participou também do grupo de teatro Gota, da Cia. Ensaio de Dança-Teatro e atualmente é ator-pesquisador do Grupo Graxa de Teatro. Em sua trajetória ele viveu algumas experiências junto com alguns grupos que o inspira em seu trabalho artístico, como: LUME Teatro (com Raquel Hirson e Jesser de Souza), Amok Teatro (com Stephane Brodt), Odin Teatret (com Roberta Carreri), Barracão Teatro (Tiche Viana e Esio Magalhãoes) Piolin (Luiz Carlos Vasconcelos) e o Cia Teatro Balangan (Maria Thais).  

Atualmente participa do APA – Ateliê de Pesquisa do Ator - em Paraty-RJ (com a mediação de Carlos Simini e Stephane Brodt) simultaneamente às atividades do mestrado em Ouro Preto na UFOP em Minas Gerais.
