TECNOLOGICAL BOBY: RELATIONS ABOUT DANCE, TECNOLOGY AND VIDEODANCE

Abstract

This text presents a historical background on the relations among dance and technology, focusing on videodance. From this background it procedes into a reflection on the effects of these relations in the making of dance in contemporaneity, its effects on the relationship among performer and audience the body conceptions of body consequent from these question. The look onto body conceptions is presented through, a trajectory of the history of dance approaching ballet, modern and postmodern dance until reaching a discussion on the body in contemporary dance and its relation to technology. Athe text results from a bibliographic, documental and iconographic research including photos, videos, interviews, magazines, websites and dance presentations relevant to the approached themes. The author has been investigating this area of study since her masters at New York University / Tisch School of the Arts, where she researched videodance, among other themes, and had a scholarship to explore in practice the relations presented here.
