Abstract

The text presents and discusses the terminology Body Environment
Merger, part of the research project “Body, Rhythm, Image: The Transcultural Choreo-Videographic Creation” (Graduate Program of Performing Arts and National Research Council, 2010-2014). The merger is analyzed in its somatic-performative implications as well as in the creation of the video-dance Body Environment Im(v)ersions, by Uirá Meneses. Relevant terms to the research are urban intervention, site specific art, site functional art, choreo-videographic composition, somatic attunement, and spatial pulsing, as well as associative possibilities of different approaches, such as Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, Movement Pattern Analysis (Action Profiling) and Body-Mind Centering. The text emphasizes the interartistic creative process of somatic-performative basis as sensitive and up to date academic research.
