THE REAL TIME COMPOSITION AS INVENTIVE STRATEGY

The real time composition in dance is linked to the notion of present, immediate, unexpected. Some terminologies as open choreography, structured choreography, danced improvisation, immediate choreography seems to be in the same conceptual envelope. Despite of its immediate and ephemeral nature, the instant composition demands from the dancers or performers experience, procedures, technique to compose in the instant. How composition in real time and other similar terminologies use the memory as support to creation? How the composition in real time, from differents points of view, relates itself with the past, the presence and the future? This article aims to relate some of these composition procedures in real time used in the actuality, articulating concepts and historical references which gives support to practices of improvisation and composition.
