This article analyzes practices of artistic creation in cabaret, going through Latin American theorists who address this theme, such as the author Christina Streva (2017). The objective was to identify the phenomenon of the junction between art, party, activism and other actions carried out on different fronts in the artistic scene of Belo Horizonte (MG), such as Teatro171, central part of the object of this analysis. For this, this work brought the concepts of Ileana Diéguez Caballero (2011) about liminality and communitas, as well as the term carnivandalization, a neologism that starts from the contraction of the idea of vandal carnivalization, using vandalism here as a symbolic act of destruction of monuments, paradigms and taboos. With that, such conceptual approaches seek to create a greater foundation for the investigations of artists who venture into actions outside of the Minas Gerais.
