Abstract

The text addresses theatrical experiments in the Brazilian scenario from the 2000s onwards, a period which saw the resumption of activism, closely linked to Brazil’s social problems. These works were developed at the same time as the explosion of movements fighting for representativeness and the rights of women, people of colour, indigenous peoples, and the LGBTQIA+ community. After giving an overview of the period, certain experiments are analyzed, especially the most recent works by Cia Vértice de Teatro, by Christiane Jatahy. The main theories used follow the work of Paul Ardenne and Rebecca Schneider.
