The main objective of this essay is to analyze the experiences of the creation of the Brazilian theater group Teatro da Travessia with the director Philippe Goudard (France) and with the theater group Cie. Singulier Pluriel (Quebec), with concepts such as culture, borders, ethnic groups, among others, as the guiding material for reflection. We will use as supplementary material the concept of culture as seen in the field of performance, with reference to the writings of Richard Schechner and Diana Taylor. The idea of putting these concepts side by side is to propose an analysis of them more directly linked to the theatrical field. Rather than trying to define what each of the concepts is, we propose here a performative reflection, so to speak, because it will also be a knowledge while it is done, an understanding in procces.
