Research in Performing Arts According to the Tercer Abstracto Group

Abstract

The Chilean-Brazilian group Tercer Abstracto, which has been operating since 2012 and has nine works on its curriculum, defines the theater they practice as "art research". According to its website, “the investigation guides the creation” and, in this context, the process “starts from a question, a problem”. On May 11, 2021, they presented their creation methodology to students of the Staging Laboratory course, taught at UNIRIO by Rosyane Trotta, and discussed the relationship between art and science at the university. Here, we bring a summary of the interview, in which students Grassi Santana and Carlos Estranho also participate.
