This work seeks to discuss what is and what is the use of Motif notation or writing, as well as to justify its use and realization. It is based on the systematization of the author's personal experience supported by literature review. The text addresses concepts, functions and provides an example of this notation. The writing of the movement in Motif brings greater awareness of dance doing and is a valuable tool for works that aim to analyze dance aesthetics and personal signatures of artists' body movement.
