Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the poem “A bailarina” by João Cabral de Melo Neto published in the book O Engenheiro (1945) in its general movements, in dialogue with studies dedicated to it, but above all from the perspective of a reflection on childhood and a certain discovery of literature, as well as a relationship with the poetic word and with art that would involve forms of learning and unlearning.
