Abstract

This article proposes a comparative analysis between the reflections of former Auschwitz prisoner Primo Levi on the Nazi concentration camp and the journalistic investigation by Daniela Arbex in Holocausto Brasileiro (2013). Starting from a debate on the term “Holocaust”, we examine how the circulation of names and discourses allows for the updating of memory archives, using the Italian’s literature and the Brazilian journalist’s work of denunciation as points of reference. Thus, we discuss the devices of depersonalization in the works of these authors, establishing an intersection between testimony and documentary record, in order to strengthen ethical vigilance, transforming the archive into a living tool of memory and resistance.
