Abstract

It is proposed that Livro de Sonetos written by Jorge de Lima is permeated by a search for revitalization. Based on a hermeneutic hypothesis that contemplates the set of poems published in 1949, the essay emphasizes this demand for life. Furthermore, in its analytical dimension, the commentary highlights reflections that the poet makes about himself and about language. In the discussion of these reflections, some antinomies are presented: Christ/Lusbel; Ivory Tower/Tower of Babel.
