Abstract

Maintaining the integrity and traceability of information in food surveillance and control activities requires the support of robust laboratory systems. This work presents the modernization of the Laboratory Portal of the Animal Health Defense Platform of Rio Grande do Sul (PDSA-RS), focusing on the review and improvement of its processes. Based on a requirements analysis conducted with the Desidério Finamor Veterinary Research Institute (IPVDF), the workflows involved in handling laboratory service requests were modeled using the BPMN notation, including the new client registration process and the expanded workflow for Service Orders. The modeling resulted in prototypes that guided the redesign of the critical stages of service delivery, promoting greater standardization, operational clarity, and support for system expansion.
