Abstract

In Entre as Rendas dos Ossos e Outros Sonhos Desabitados, Tânia Souza’s poetry is inscribed within memory – or rather, memories – shaped by both the act of recording and the inventive power of poetic language, thus configuring a palimpsest of feelings in which different temporalities, voices, experiences, and traces overlap, are rewritten, and continually resignified. Far from constituting a mere exercise in recollection, memory emerges as a creative device that, in dialogue with language, transforms the past into a living substance, constantly renewed through writing. Within this process, memory and language become structuring forces that allow the present to take shape as a reality that is at once tangible and resilient, “like bones,” yet delicate “like lace.” Memory, time, and poetic language thus form the triad that underpins the entire collection, revealing a poetics in which writing becomes a space for inscription, reinvention, and the enduring expression of human experience.
