Abstract

Abstract: The essay examines His Excellency, the Ambassador (1965), by Erico Verissimo (1905-1975), from the point of view of the “individual discursive experiences” (Bakhtin, 2003) of the characters Pablo Ortega and Roberto Valencia, which are constructed in discursive contexts marked by an intense ideological clash, a situation that attests the dialogic and polyphonic trait of the language and, consequently, of the discursive genre novel.

Bruno Brizotto possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade de Caxias do Sul (2012), mestrado em Letras pela mesma Universidade (2014) e doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2019).  Áreas de atuação:  Estéticas da recepção e do efeito, memória, Erico Verissimo, língua e literatura inglesa.  Atua como professor de língua inglesa em rsos de idiomas e na rede estadual de ensino em Caxias do Sul.
