Redescoberta de Pavonia nana R.E.Fries (Malvaceae), uma espécie endêmica dos campos do sul da América do Sul, 42 anos após o seu primeiro registro no Brasil
Abstract
This article describes the rediscovery of Pavonia nana (Malvaceae), 42 years after its first record in Brazil. A population of approximately 30 individuals was found in the Ibirapuitã Environmental Preservation Area, in the municipality of Santana do Livramento, RS, Brazil. The geographic distribution map, information on phenology, and a plate with images of the species and its habitat are presented. Pavonia nana is considered an endemic species of the grassland of the Uruguayan and Brazilian Pampas, categorized as Endangered (EN) in terms of its conservation status, according to IUCN criteria.
