FRAGMENTAÇÃO ESPACIAL EM MONTES CLAROS-MG

Abstract

The urban city needs to be built in its geographic set, at the same time, considering its urban peculiarities and as a spatial transformation. In Brazil, the process of spatial fragmentation is already well researched in in-depth research for a metropolis, however, in medium-sized cities, the subject is recent. In these cities, spatial fragmentation is configured with its own rhythms and characteristics. Thus, this article analyzes the process of spatial fragmentation in the average city of Montes Claros/MG. For this purpose, the income variable is used; Important in research on the referred leisure process, associated with components such as mobility, consumption and verticalization. A methodology developed was qualitative, with theoretical analysis and quantitative field research with iconographic record, in addition to application of record for the population. It was verified, through the results, that Montes Claros obtained a spatially fragmented city. This contrasts in the fabric that reveals itself as its current forms and structuring, among other aspects, its urban reflection from the spatial configuration due to social uses.
