O rock fascista e a representação de um Brasil antidemocrático (1990-2020)
Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the representations of the Brazilian nation produced by fascist rock bands between the years 1990 and 2020. Over the past 30 years, these songs have served as instruments of national idealization, dissemination of fascist ideas, and recording of the ruptures and continuities that fascism maintains with the past. Our examination will focus on lyrics of songs produced by these bands to understand how the representation of the nation is not only fundamental to the purposes of contemporary fascisms but also to demonstrate how this results in antidemocratic discourses, strengthening instances of society discontent with democracy.
