Abstract

With the implementation of the civil-military coup of 1964, the main leaders of the country's working class began to suffer immediate persecution. In the state of Paraíba this situation it was not different, started a process of cancellation of mandates, union interventions and arrests of the main leaders of the Paraíba union movement began, which lasted until the end of the dictatorial period. In this article, we analyze the trajectory of some urban unionists who worked in the state of Paraíba and who had their rights violated during and after the dictatorial period. For this, we use some sources organized by the Comissão Estadual da Verdade and Preservação da Memória do Estado da Paraíba, like Processos de Anistia, Inquéritos Policiais Militares and and testimonies, as well as biographical books written by the unionists themselves.
