Buscamos compreender a prática social de construção do corpo indígena Kalapalo. O estudo foi realizado na aldeia Aiha, Mato Grosso, Brasil. Foram feitas observações sistemáticas e estas registradas em diários de campo. Também realizamos entrevistas com professores indígenas. Observamos que a prática social da construção do corpo se dá, especialmente, por meio da reclusão pubertária, diferenciada para meninos e meninas. Os meninos são educados, principalmente com o auxílio do pai, para aquisição de força, fluência verbal, temperança e para uma estética robusta, de lutador. As meninas são educadas, especialmente com o cuidado da mãe, ao atributo da vergonha, da tranqüilidade, ao saber da rotina doméstica e de uma beleza que privilegia formas arredondadas e panturrilhas grossas. Neste contexto ocorrem processos educativos diferenciados para meninos e meninas, relacionados à: ingestão de eméticos e ervas; realização de escarificações; restrições alimentares e sexuais; práticas corporais.

Abstract
We looked forward to understand the social practice of constructing the body indigenous Kalapalo. The study was conducted in the village Aiha, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Systematic observations were made and recorded in these diaries the field. We also do interviews with indigenous teachers. We observed that the practice of social construction of the body is given, especially by means of imprisonment puberty, different for boys and girls. The boys are educated, mainly with the help of the father, for the purchase of force, verbal fluency, temperance and a robust aesthetics of fighter. The girls are educated, especially with the care of the mother, the attribute of shame, of peace, know the routine domestic and a beauty that focuses rounded forms and thick calves. In this context occur educational processes different for boys and girls, related to: intake of emetics and herbs; realization of escarification; restrictions food and sex; practice corporal.
