Abstract

Data collected from the geologic mapping manufactured by students and professors of the Instituto de Geociências, UFRGS, of the cartographic sector of Lagoa da Meia Lua, Vila Nova and Suspiro, RS, are presented here concerning rocks of the Itarará Group, Lower Permian, of Paraná Basin. The facies Budó and Suspiro by Delaney & Goñi (1963) were recognized in defined stratigraphic position. Through textures, sedimentary structures and fossils the marine transgression that occurred after a depositional phase under glacial climate was identified in areas belonging to this research.
