Abstract

Since the white man’s arrival in America, diverse views were built about the Indian behavior, mainly in face of death and pain. Being little or seriously mistaken, form contemporary first colonizer writers to 20th century writers, a writing goes by: the one who characterizes and defines the autochthon is the white man not himself. An unusual view characterizing the Indian is one of an alleged stoicism in his behavior made by Sarmiento.
