This paper aims to investigate the Mbya economic forms, based on literature about the Guarani people. Starting from commenting about practices of production and consumption, as discussed in ethnographies about the Guarani, we intend to demonstrate how the "economic forms" are ways of creating and maintaining social ties, both among humans and with certain categories of non-human, relations expressed in a large social network in which the Mbya and other subjectivities are involved. The investigation about the economic ways as a “Guarani subject” from a wide and varied ethnographic production revealed how the Mbya are able to adapt to various situations. We will try to relativize an image which considers the mbya economic forms as governed by reasons related solely to the satisfaction of material needs, involving the use of limited resources. As we will see, the Mbya economics is beyond this Western perspective.Downloads
