Abstract

The Brazilian indigenous women have been undergoing abuse and violence in several degrees since the beginning of colonization. For centuries, along with their people, they have been pushed to the margins of society, forced to silently suffer all kinds of violence. It was only in the 20th century that they started to express their pain and to struggle for their rights through written literature.
