PANORAMA DA VIOLÊNCIA NOS TERRITÓRIOS INDÍGENAS DA REGIÃO SUL
UMA INVESTIGAÇÃO DO SIASI ARTICULADA AO BEM-VIVER
Abstract
With the ratification of the 1988 Constitution, the right to autonomy for Indigenous Peoples and the territories they inhabit was recognized. However, the State continues to be a violent agent. This assertion is reflected in the Temporal Framework, obstacles to the demarcation of new Indigenous Lands, the protection of already ratified ones, and the overall neglect that Indigenous Peoples endure. In this context, this work aimed to construct a possible overview of violence against the body-territory of Indigenous Peoples in the southern region of Brazil. To this end, an ecological study was conducted between 2015 and 2022, based on reports of violence recorded in the Sistema de Informação da Atenção à Saúde Indígena - SIASI. The data points to a scenario of gender, sexual, and child violence within Indigenous territories. There is an urgent need to combat violence against Indigenous children and women and to ensure access to comprehensive health care based on the concept of Well-Being, especially for those who suffer from violence.
