This article analyzes some Darcy Ribeiro's anthropologist texts, written between 1960's and 1990's seeking to problematize the theoretical and methodological discussion on indigenous anthropology made around his project for an anthropology of Brazilians. I will try to demonstrate how the author used elements from his own political and intellectual trajectory to legitimaze his analytical proposal and also how his project was connected to his Theory of Brazil. I also propose some analyzes of the way in which his perspective created a perception about the indigenous condition and also about the possible political, social and epistemic effects of his approach.
