Abstract

This article discusses the social assistance policy and its interlocution with the indigenous question based on reflections that emerged in a documentary research process. It systematizes a theoretical review on indigenous policy and social policies with a focus on social assistance. Some notes reaffirm how necessary it is to understand the ways of being and living of indigenous peoples so that they have access to social assistance rights and so that the expansion of this debate within the SUAS, as an indigenous policy, becomes effective in this public agenda based on the indigenous participation and protagonism.
