In Brazil, the tensions present in the escalation of political violence, with a strong increase in the number of murders of environmentalists and indigenous peoples, highlight the projects of society in dispute. On the one hand, such tensions highlight the educational thought disseminated in educational intuitions and, thus, the identities that were/are being forged in these spaces. On the other hand, these tensions emphasize coloniality and capitalism which, as the origin and nourishment of the engineering of racism, establish death and destruction. In this sense, the present text – presented in a conference format – discusses racism, strongly installed in Brazilian universities, which makes up the epistemic dispute of the narrative of exclusion and liberation. On the agenda of exclusion, the text proposes political-analytic reflections to think about indigenous peoples in the university, not only in the field of physical disputes; but also in the epistemic field to question the marks of colonization and structural racism. In turn, as a narrative of liberation, the text presents the potential of Rural Education as one of the many possibilities of transgression and subversion of racist, genocidal and ecocidal logics present in Brazilian educational thought.
