CULTURA CORPORAL INDÍGENA
EXPERIÊNCIAS DOS ESTUDANTES INDÍGENAS DA ALDEIA RIO PEQUENO NA REDE PÚBLICA DE PARATY
Abstract
The general objective of this work is to verify if the experiences of indigenous students from the Rio Pequeno village are used by Physical Education teachers in the teaching and learning process. The study presents a qualitative approach and is characterized as exploratory-descriptive. The participants were indigenous students from the Rio Pequeno village and non-indigenous students who studied with indigenous students from the Rio Pequeno village. We also interviewed two Physical Education teachers and one from the Nhebo'e Porã Extension Room in Aldeia Rio Pequeno. The instruments to collect data were: participant observation, semi-structured interviews with teachers, and a focus group with students. The anchor for interpreting the indexical terms was the legacy of ethnomethodology. The findings show that elements of indigenous culture are not developed in Physical Education classes. In addition, we verified the lack of understanding of the importance of the theme of indigenous body culture in the speech of teachers, when it is understood that not only non-indigenous sports, games, and games should compose the curriculum of Physical Education.
