Abstract

This Report tries to verify how the graduate education process of economists is operating in the United States. What is the profile of the students and what are they doing after earning their degree in economics? These and other questions built the goal of the national survey. The positive side of the economists formation as well as the concerns are presented. Emphasis is given to the interrelationship of economics, mathematics and econometry. What kind of core program should build the education of doctors in economics? What are the constraints in the economics graduate courses? Criativity and limited communication skills comprise serious shortcomings for students in economics on the graduate level.
