Abstract

In the context of Artistic Practice as Research, the Art of Movement by Rudolf Laban supports principles of the Somatic-Performative Approach, more specifically, of Somatic-Performative Research. Under the perspective of Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, performativity consists of moving and being moved by spatial pulsing, between matter and energy, stir and stillness, integrating with somatic principles exemplified in the text with activities of the Performance Laboratory of the Graduate Program of Performing Arts of Federal University of Bahia (PPGAC/UFBA). Through somatic-performative procedures, research processes in performing arts are guided by creative experience in movement, merging improvisation and analysis, dance and writing, gradually structuring knowledge in a dynamic, coherent and relevant mode.

Author Biography

Ciane Fernandes, UFBA - Universidade Federal da Bahia. Salvador - BA

Professora titular da Escola de Teatro e do PPGAC/UFBA, graduada em enfermagem, licenciada em artes plásticas e especialista em saúde mental (arteterapia) pela Universidade de Brasília; mestre e Ph.D. em Artes & Humanidades para Intérpretes das Artes Cênicas pela New York University (1995) e Analista de Movimento pelo Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (New York - 1994), de onde é pesquisadora associada; e pós-doutora em Comunicação e Cultura Contemporâneas pela UFBA (2010). Autora de livros sobre dança-teatro e análise de movimento no Brasil, E.U.A. e Inglaterra, bem como vários cadernos acadêmicos e um livro sobre somática e Prática como Pesquisa. Desde 1997, dirige o Coletivo A-FETO de Dança-Teatro, ensina e pesquisa sobre somática, análise do movimento, formação corporal do ator, dança-teatro, interartes, transculturalidade, performance e, em especial, desde 2009, ecoperformance, bem como dança e deficiência.
