Universidade no contexto da América Latina: 90 anos da reforma de Córdoba e 40 anos da reforma universitária brasileira

O texto analisa histórica e politicamente a organização da universidade nos países da América – Latina, tomando como referência o contexto sócio-político-cultural de dominação colonial e, posteriormente, o período republicano até o movimento estudantil brasileiro de 1968. São analisadas as aproximações e os distanciamentos em termos de princípios, objetivos e conseqüências, dos dois principais movimentos de reforma existentes no contexto latino de educação superior – o de Córdoba de 1918 e o da Reforma Universitária Brasileira de 1968. O texto marca os 90 anos do movimento de Córdoba e os 40 anos da Reforma Universitária.

Abstract

The text analyzes historical and politically the organization of university in the countries of Latin-America, taking as reference the social, political and cultural context of two period: colonial dominance and the republican period until the Brazilian student movement of 1968. The approaches and the estrangements are analyzed in terms of principals, objectives and consequences of the two main existent reform movements in the Latin context of Higher Education - the one of Córdoba in 1918 and the Brazilian University Reform of 1968. The text marks the 90 years of the movement of Córdoba and the 40 years of the Brazilian University Reform.
