The expression of human freedom in Jewish myticism - Abstract: This article discusses the origins of mystical thought within Judaism, analyzing the historical juncture marked by exile and persecution which turned out to foster, among the people of Israel, deep hopes of another world – a world of redemption, equality and justice. It is focused on the mystical school of thought which flourished in Spain, after the Crusades at the end of the 13th century: the Kabbalah, whose foundation lies on the freedom of imagination to create new invisible textual realities and new rituals that would value the passage from exile to redemption. The article highlights the concept of Shekhinah, “the world of the speech”, the oral law, identified with the feminine presence of God, a symbol of the transformation of exile torments into a reality of full liberation.
