Mulheres da família: as descendentes de Beile, uma história não escrita

Resumo

Este artigo focaliza algumas mulheres descendentes de Beile, esposa do responsável religioso pela Colônia denominada Philippson, localizada em Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, para onde judeus da Bessarábia, vieram em 1904, trazidos por um projeto da Jewish Colonization Association (ICA). O objetivo do trabalho é trazer alguma luz à falta de informações sobre as mulheres na troca de  correspondência entre os administradores da Colônia e a Direção da ICA em Paris, contrastando-a com posições ocupadas socialmente por algumas descendentes desta primeira colônia. Propõe também questões de um re-olhar para o passado que constituiu a identidade presente. Utiliza como instrumentos os dados obtidos pelas cartas enviadas pelos administradores da colônia à sua diretoria entre 1901-1914 e entrevistas realizadas com os descendentes dessa pioneira. Tais entrevistas trazem relatos sobre várias mulheres descendentes que tiveram papel de pioneiras em suas atividades profissionais no Brasil. A análise se deu em torno dos termos: predisposições herdadas, heranças simbólicas: judaísmo; herdeiros, herança, hereditariedade. Concluiu-se que houve uma obrigação de transmissão, implicando a transmissão de laços de solidariedade familiar em que as mulheres, guerreiras ou não, capitanearam a travessia na terra estranha.

The women of the family: Beile’s descendants, a non-written history - Abstract: This article focuses some women who are descendants of Beile, wife of the first religious leader in Philippson’s Colony, located in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, to where Jews from Bessarabia came in 1904 brought by a project of colonization named Jewish Colonization Association (ICA). This work aims to bring some light to the complete absence of information about women in the correspondence between the managers of the colony and its direction located in Paris, contrasting with the subsequent outstanding positions assumed by some women who descended from this pioneer. It also proposes to relook the past that shaped the present identity. In this research, data were collected from the letters written by the managers to the direction (from 1903 to 1914) and also from interviews with this family descendants. These interviews report many of these women as being pioneers in their professional activities in Brazil. The analysis was built considering the terms: inherited predispositions; symbolic heritages: Judaism; heirs, inheritance, heredity. The research leads to the conclusion that an obligation of transmission has occurred, implying the transmission of family solidarity bonds where women, warriors or not, captained the voyage in the foreign land.
