A LACUNA HISTÓRICA PELOTENSE: MINUANOS/GUENOAS E GUARANIS NA LAGUNA DOS PATOS E SERRA DO SUDESTE (SÉC. XVI-XIX)

O presente trabalho apresenta, a partir da revisão da bibliografia específica e de resultados de pesquisas de campo mais recentes, alguns apontamentos sobre a confluência de culturas que transitaram entre a Laguna dos Patos e a Serra do Sudeste, entre os séculos XVI e XIX. O objetivo é propor uma reflexão acerca do esquecimento, do silenciamento e da ausência da contribuição indígena à história institucional de Pelotas/RS, que reflete apenas os acontecimentos decorridos nos últimos 200 anos, enquanto que os antecedentes históricos da região apresentam indícios de desenvolvimento social e cultural que datam de, no mínimo, mais de 2500 anos antes do presente e cujos vestígios de cultura material e imaterial sobrevivem na contemporaneidade em diferentes espaços e tradições. A ênfase à cultura material passa pela percepção da trajetória humana que confluiu pela cidade mesmo quando ela não existia. Especial atenção à cultura indígena, que por essas bandas transitou muito antes do surgimento de qualquer princípio de urbanidade, segundo padrões europeus, e que legou ao presente uma enormidade de bens materiais hoje acondicionados em diversos espaços dedicados à memória e à pesquisa.

ABSTRACT
This paper presents, from a review of the specific bibliography and results of recent field research, some notes about the confluence of cultures that transited between Laguna dos Patos and Serra do Sudeste between the 16th and 19th centuries. The objective is to propose a reflection on the forgetfulness, silence and absence of the indigenous contribution to the institutional history of Pelotas / RS, which reflects only the events that have occurred in the last 200 years, while the historical antecedents of the region show signs of social and cultural traditions that date back at least 2500 years before the present and whose vestiges of material and immaterial culture survive in contemporary times in different spaces and traditions. The emphasis on material culture passes through the perception of the human trajectory that merged into the city even when it did not exist. Particular attention was paid to the indigenous culture, which went on long before the emergence of any principle of urbanity, according to European standards, and which bequeathed to the present a wealth of material possessions that are now housed in various spaces dedicated to memory and research.
