The metropolization of space is a political process and, therefore, constituted of relations of power. These relationships, within the scope of metropolization, can be analyzed from the homogenization-fragmentationhierarchy triad, highlighting the latter to focus on the safety devices, techniques and strategies that play a fundamental role in the formation of mega-regions and the support of their centers of power - indispensable to metropolitan governance. In this sense, if Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo constitute a megarregion, and if the functions of direction and command of power centers are distinguished by the degree of hierarchy, it is up to us to question how these "mega-regions of control" constitute and impose themselves over other fractions of space.Downloads
