Freud e a invenção da judeidade
Resumo
O presente artigo traz uma reflexão sobre a relação de Freud com a tradição judaica, tomando como ponto de partida o conceito de judeidade. Discute-se a importância do lugar ocupado pela intelligentzia judaica na diáspora europeia no início do século XX e o modo como Freud extraiu dessa experiência condições para sustentar a psicanálise numa cultura hostil às suas descobertas. Empreende-se uma análise sobre o fracasso do processo de emancipação do povo e os caminhos que levaram o pai da Psicanálise, já no final de sua vida e obra, a escrever "O homem Moisés e o monoteísmo: três ensaios".
Freud and the invention of Jewishness - Abstract: A reflection on Freud’s relationship with the Jewish tradition is presented, taking as its starting point the concept of Jewishness. The importance of the place occupied by the Jewish intelligentsia in the European diaspora in the early twentieth century is discussed, and how Freud drew from that experience conditions to support psychoanalysis in a culture hostile to its findings. An analysis is made of the failure of the Jewish people’s emancipation process and of the paths that led the father of psychoanalysis, at the end of his life and work, to write "The Man Moses and Monotheism: Three essays".
