Os nossos ruídos interiores e a ultrapassagem das barreiras: uma análise do conto “Os que cavam” de Amós Oz
Resumo
O conto “Os que cavam”, pertencente ao livro Cenas da vida na aldeia, do escritor israelense contemporâneo Amós Oz, constitui um paradigma para o conflito árabeisraelense. No espaço geográfico da casa de Pessach Kedem e sua filha Rachel, localizada na aldeia centenária de Tel Ilan, ocorre o confronto com o elemento estranho – o jovem serviçal árabe que habitava num barracão num canto afastado do quintal. Os supostos ruídos “ouvidos” pelos personagens corroboram a fragilidade dos relacionamentos interpessoais, criando-se um clima de tensão, medo e desconfiança. Nesse contexto, as barreiras existentes entre eles se tornam muito acentuadas, e a possibilidade de pacificação e aproximação se torna bastante tênue e até mesmo impossível.
Our inner noises and the surpassing of barriers: an analysis of the short story “Digging”, by Amos Oz - Abstract: The short story “Digging”, which belongs to the book of the Israeli contemporary writer Amos Oz entitled Scenes from village life, can be considered as a paradigm of the Arab-Israeli conflict. At the geographical space of Pessach Kedem’s house, father and daughter are face-toface with a young Arab student who is a stranger – he is a workman who does household tasks for both of them. The supposed noises “heard” by the three characters state the fragile links of their interpersonal relationship. In this context, the barriers are stressed and the possibility of peace and the straightening of their relationship are actually hard to be achieved.
