Fuga da morte: o hino do Holocausto

Resumo

Este artigo apresenta um histórico de Fuga da morte e de seu poeta, Paul Celan, e um comentário crítico do poema, no qual foram levantados alguns recursos da composição musical fuga no intuito de examinar a técnica da construção literária do texto. No comentário não se pretende analisar exaustivamente os recursos musicais da fuga; tais recursos são levantados com o intuito de examinar a técnica da construção do poema, isto é, são considerados aqui os elementos musicais básicos que constroem a fuga para buscar aqueles que fundam a estrutura literária do poema de Paul Celan. O objetivo do artigo, portanto, é mostrar como a linguagem da música e a da poesia entretecem-se no poema, enriquecendo sua textura poética. Perseguiu-se o tema do poema, o Holocausto judeu e, especificamente, o campo de concentração nazista em que Celan viveu como prisioneiro, procurando encontrá-lo nas complexas imagens a que o poeta recorreu para tratá-lo alusivamente. Ao longo da análise do poema, a presença da linguagem narrativa em depoimentos de vítimas do Holocausto que viveram como prisioneiros em campos de trabalho e de extermínio nazis teve a intenção de mostrar a expressão literária denotativa que, diferentemente do poema, mas não com menos contundência, registrou o horror e a insanidade da máquina de morte ideológica do III Reich, iluminando a leitura metafórica poema.

Death fugue: the hymn of Holocaust - Abstract: This article presents a historical report on the poem Death fugue and its author, Paul Celan, as well as a critical commentary of the poem, in which some features of musical composition are focused in order to examine the technical construction of the literary text. In the commentary, it is not intended to exhaustively analyze the features of the fugue; such information is collected in order to examine the technical construction of the poem, i. e., basic musical elements are here taken into account to seek for those elements on which the literary structure of the poem by Paul Celan are founded. The purpose of this article, therefore, is to show how the languages of music and poetry interwoven in the poem, enriching the poetic texture. The theme of the poem, the Holocaust (and specifically the Nazi concentration camp where Celan lived as a prisoner), is pursuited in an attempt to find it in the complex images that the poet employed to treat it allusively. Throughout the analysis of the poem, the presence of the narrative language in testimonials of Holocaust victims who lived as prisoners in Nazi concentration camps aimed to show the denotative literary expression that, differently from poetry, but not with less forcefulness, recorded the horror and insanity of the death machine ideology of the Third Reich, illuminating the metaphorical reading of the poem.
