Opressão e Resistência: Notas sobre o judeu na obra engajada de Jorge Amado e no teatro político de Jorge Andrade
Resumo
A presença do judeu na obra de Jorge Amado visivelmente articula movimento comunista e antissemitismo, na primeira metade do século XX, sobretudo no período da ditadura do Estado Novo (1937-1945). Opressão se destaca em termos de conteúdo. A representação do judeu na dramaturgia de Jorge Andrade, durante a Ditadura Militar (1964-1985), revela características menos estereotipadas. Também surge como uma metáfora para a luta e resistência. O projeto estético-ideológico de ambos os autores articula, em síntese, uma palavra de ordem: liberdade.
Oppression and Resistance: Notes on the Jew in Jorge Amado’s socially engaged work and in Jorge Andrade’s political drama - Abstract: The presence of the Jew in Jorge Amado’s writings notoriously links Communist movement and anti- Semitism in the first half of the twentieth century, specifically during Estado Novo dictatorship period (1937-1945). Oppression stands out in terms of content. The Jew representation in Jorge Andrade’s dramaturgy during the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985) shows less stereotypical features. Also it emerges as a metaphor for struggle and resistance. The aesthetic-ideological project of both authors articulates, in short, a slogan: freedom.
