Previous students opinion about a nursing auxiliary course

Abstract

The study evaluates the performance of a nursing auxiliary course developed in a University Hospital. The aim is to identify positive and negative aspects of its functionning through the previous students opinion about: proposed objectives, duration of the course, subjects developed, theory and practice integration, practical lessons and the evaluation process. The data were collected through a sample of sixteen students that answered a questionnaire. The results showed that the evaluated course is well recognised by the community, although some suggestions indicate that we need to think about a best way of transmitting and internalising in the students the importance of theoretic background to a qualified professional performance.
