Theme and problem: constituent elements of a research project

Abstract

This article approaches important aspects pointed by different authors and it makes us reflect about the construction of a research project. This reflection is relevant to definition of the theme and the problem for the elaboration of the research’s preliminary sketch to be developed in the graduate course. Nursing is characterized by a complex activity and its thinking/doing is loaded of possible inquietudes which can be researched, what makes difficult the theme and problem definition, for the plenty of situations lived in the daily of our activity, that could be subject of deepened studies and therefore bring answers to many inquietudes. Another difficulty that involves this decision is the fact that the inceptive reasearchers come across a peculiar moment in this definition. I believe that this problem concerns to researchers in general also.
