As cenas do som propostas neste artigo visam desdobrar a noção abordando três formas sonoras interligadas entre elas pela experiência estética que suscita a pintura de Mark Rothko. Trata-se de observar como o documentário sonoro de criação Rothko, produzido por Claire ingrid Cottanceau e Olivier Mellano para a emissora de rádio France Culture, deu impulso à forma cênica Rothko Untitled #2, concebida pelos mesmos autores, e como esse processo de criação desencadeou a produção de um documentário sonoro de pesquisa realizado pela autora deste artigo.
