Abstract

This article analyses some aspects of Celso Nunes´ staging and Carlos Queiróz Telles´ adaptation in the play A Viagem on Luís de Camões´ book Os Lusíadas. This play was produced by Ruth Escobar and premièred in São Paulo in 1972. In that Brazilian historical period, marked by strong military repression, the mentioned staging was guided by the idea of a theater performance open to the entire creative assembly, pointing to new dramatic possibilities – nowadays widely used and expanded – and to collective collaboration when gathered by the theatrical poetics.
