Abstract

This article discusses an experience of improvisation and choreographic composition in dance with people with Parkinson's disease participating in the Dança & Parkinson Project at the Centro de Referência do Envelhecimento e Movimento at UFRGS. It aims to describe and analyze the written records made by the participants in relation to the dance improvisation practices developed, in addition to assessing their impact on each person's subjectivity. It also seeks to emphasize the artistic potential of dance in the practice of health promotion, through emotional, cognitive, physical and social engagement. Methodologically, this is a qualitative research, with a sample of 11 subjects and using content analysis methods, with results that demonstrated an increase in body awareness and creativity, with a positive impact on the feeling of well-being.
