The article intends to study new scripting and staging procedures in documentary, based on the analysis of Moscow (2009), by Eduardo Coutinho. The film breaks with any documentary reference by bringing fragments of essays from the play The Three Sisters by Anton Tchekhov, by Grupo Galpão from Belo Horizonte (MG) and with exercises performed by the actors, without actually concluding the staging of the play. By resorting to the method of film analysis, the article concludes that by raising new possibilities and bringing a potential, open and unfinished film, Coutinho enriches the practical, theoretical and conceptual horizons on cinematographic language and the multiple narrative and visual strategies of cinema.
