Bill, Romoli and Schwarz (2108) report experiments with implicatural/presuppositional stimuli whose compared results, according to the authors, support this hypothesis. One of the results, however, constitutes evidence contrary to the hypothesis. This article demonstrates that the lack of parallelism identified between the results of the two experiments carried out cannot be considered evidence contrary to the assumed hypothesis, because the linguistic stimuli compared show up a difference in the number of negation operations in their processing, an intervening factor that biases the results. The result of an experiment similar to that of the authors is presented, with stimuli in Portuguese, which correct the distortion found.
2024-04-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Marcos Goldnadel, Tamara Melohttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/cadernosdoil/article/view/135101Reading comprehension of mathematical problems and narrative and expository texts: an eye-tracking study2023-09-27T15:41:18-03:00Francine Baranoski Pereira francine.baranoski@hotmail.comAngela Ines Kleinangela.ines.klein@hotmail.comRomeu Miqueias Szmoski rmszmoski@utfpr.edu.brAna Lucia Pereiraanabaccon@uepg.br
This research investigated the reading comprehension of mathematical problems of students with better and worse performance in reading (effective and ineffective), being measured by reading and comprehension tests of narrative and expository texts and by the average school performance in the subject of Portuguese Language. The 30 students read and mentally calculated six math problems, while their eye movements were recorded. Analyzes show that effective readers read in less time, made fewer fixations and saccades compared to ineffective readers. The results indicate that the worst performance in solving mathematical problems is attributed to the inability in reading and comprehension, and it was concluded that the good performance in reading and comprehension enables the acquisition of knowledge in all areas.
For this, the theoretical foundation was anchored in the theoretical-methodological orientation of Sociodiscursive Interactionism (ISD), according to Schneuwly and Dolz (2004), with a focus on Active Methodologies, with Moran (2018), and on the concept of blog according to Schittine (2004) . The methodology adopted was qualitative, focusing on action research. In this sense, the analysis of the experience allowed us to verify that the blog is a significant tool for mediating content and for forming a critical-reflective subject, as it enables a dynamic approach that puts the student's protagonism in focus.
This work proposes to systematize the relationships between language, national identity and transnationalism based on a case between different generations of immigrants. Methodologically, this work consists of a qualitative investigation carried out from the analysis of 5 tweets taken from Bolsonaro's official Twitter account, during the period in which he was the incumbent president of Brazil. In view of the results obtained, we discovered that the ideological and hegemonic discourse conveyed in the tweets collaborates to the maintenance of asymmetrical relations of power. That said, we inferred that Bolsonaro's tweets deny the existence of structural racism and contribute to its naturalization, by cultivating a discourse that attests to a false racial democracy in Brazilian society.
Therefore, the research is of an applied nature, of a qualitative nature, and uses questionnaires and Pedagogical Letters as a data collection instrument with students and professors of a Civil Engineering course at a University of Rio Grande do Sul. It is evident that these practices are not so present throughout the course, being more found in components aimed at the Final Paper. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that even if they are not so present during the course, some professors seek to insert these practices, recognizing their relevance in the students' learning.
2024-04-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Felipe Correa da Rosa Leite, Ana Cristina da Silva Rodrigues
