Renato Amado is a Brazilian writer from Rio de Janeiro. An author of short stories published in several anthologies, he released his second novel, Nonada, after founding Editora Flâneur and the multi-arts collective Caneta, Lente & Pincel, which produced exhibitions and publications bridging literature, photography, and visual arts. He holds a Ph.D. in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies from Brown University and an M.A. in Brazilian Literature from UERJ. A former Petrobras attorney, he left his legal career to dedicate himself to literature and academia.
Torin Spangler
Torin Spangler is an Associate Lecturer in Latin American and Iberian Studies at UMass Boston and a PhD Candidate in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University. He specializes in Lusophone African Literature and History, but has also researched a broad range of subjects connected with the literature and cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries. Torin holds a degree in Translation Practices from the University of Lisbon, and has worked extensively as a translator in Portugal and in the United States.
